Almost Four

LMW is almost 4 months old and in honor of this occasion, I had to fix him up another onesie. I wanted to do a tribute to the Razorbacks, but didn't have anything appropriate in my stash. I'll make sure to have some hogs on hand before the 5th month!

It's football time, so if I couldn't add a razorback, I at least had to add a football! And there is some red in there too. Go Hogs!

Froggy Tag

Since LMW loves his little monkey tag blanket Nanna made him so well, she decided to make him one for home. Only this time, the froggy jumped in.

Now the monkey and the froggy can play tag with LMW.

I submitted my desk redo, as it involved fabric. I hope it's accepted. If not, I have the Monkey Tag Blanket I can send. I'm kinda excited about venturing out into the blog world a little more. Doesn't take much to entertain me!

Desk Re-Do

One day when the husband and I were flea marketing in Jacksonville, I came across this desk.

I was in the market for one, to use as a sewing table. This one was good and solid, and was only $30.00, so it came home with us that day.  I knew I wanted to change it up in a big way, but had to mull it over in my mind for a couple of weeks. And the hardware definitely needed changing.

It must have been in a girl's room. And it was obviously a child's desk due to the height and all the writing in the drawers. *grin* The hubs would have liked me to strip it and stain it as he is a big fan of wood grain, and I have to admit, I have a love for it myself. But...just about every piece of furniture in my house is brown. I just realized that yesterday. (I'm going to have to do something about that)

I decided I wanted to paint it black. And so I did. Then I decided I wanted to do something creative to the drawer fronts, like I've seen on so many other blogs. This is what I wound up with....drum roll please.......

I am in love.  It turned out just like I'd hoped it would. My only problem was that the paint wanted to scratch off. So, it took several coats of paint, plus a spray sealer, which made it blotchy, and I painted one more coat over that. I adhered the fabric with modge podge. And I replaced the hardware with simple silver circles.

Now, I need to figure out if there is anything in the house that I can paint....

In the Pink

I've had this set sewn and waiting for a name. Today, I found out what I needed to know, and finished them all up.

Two bibs and two matching burp cloths....

and a bound fleece blanket.

One more project checked off my to-do list.

1. What's your best memory as a small child? Getting a bike for Christmas. That's the only thing I can think of that was really great other than getting to visit my grandparents.


2.What or who can you think of and a smile instantly comes to your face? My grandson...of course.

3.Have you ever been arrested? Nope, thank goodness.

4.What is the most scared you have ever been? When my son was in an altercation and his ride left him in Florida with no way home.

5.What "creature" would you not voluntarily hold for $1000? Any snake. Period. And there are others...

6.What kind of cell do you have? If any. Tracfone. I really threw my feet out!

7. What's your favorite past time? Sewing.
