Friday Finishes

I managed to finish one pillow and...
one of the NICU quilts that I dubbed "Green Acres".

If nothing prevents it, I'll get the other pillow done tomorrow and start on quilting another quilt. I have to admit, I'm ready for a change of pattern on the quilts, since I did the last ones all the same, just in different colors of "Little Rascals".  I did switch up the quilting on some of them to make them a little different.

Isaac has brought us beneficial rain and so far, no storms. Thank you Lord!!

Works in Progress

I have several projects in the works and can't seem to settle down and get any one of them finished!!
Three NICU quilts and...
two throw pillows for my couch.
I spent several hours with an old friend Tuesday and we found a brand new fabric store in downtown Benton where I purchased fabric for the new pillows.  I think I need to get going on them!!

On a Roll

I whipped out another NICU quilt today and instead of holding on to the post, decided to do two in one day. Whoopee!!
I call it Little Cowboy Blue and it's made from more of the "Little Rascals" charms that Sharon gave me.
As much as I hate it, I think I need to shut down my sewing machine for the day and get some other tasks done. :(

Park Play

This is my latest quilt for St. Vincent's NICU and I call it Park Play, because the toile print looks like kids playing in a park to me.
I'm still using up scraps and fabric from my hoarded stash and taking my time. I'm enjoying the process this time and don't feel so pressured. Why do I do that to myself anyway??
I have three more tops ready to be quilted. Soooo, on I go.

BTW, the lady at the Walmart service desk reminded me this morning there are only 4 months till Christmas.... Yikes!! I gotta get going on gifts. What about you?

In The Pink

I finished up a charity quilt this morning. I threw scraps together and didn't try to have any order to it.
I just kept adding strips, squares, rectangles, etc., and fit them together as I went.
I ran the top up in an afternoon and enjoyed the process. I'm trying to use up some of my scraps and small pieces and not buy any fabric until absolutely necessary. Hard, but I'm doing ok so far. The backing was from the stash my Mom left. It was large enough to use for three baby quilts, so I'm good on that for now.
Another one goes in the St. Vincent NICU bag.

Weekend Work

I managed to put together an iPad cover for Sister #1 this weekend. It was my first attempt, and I used this tutorial.
The instructions were pretty straightforward and the project pretty easy to do. Sister loves Peanuts and the beach, so this fabric I got from Tonya seemed perfect.

I don't own an iPad...*sniff* so I couldn't put one in here to show you how it fits, but she said it fit just fine.  The only problem was that she really wanted straps on it, so I'll have to study it and see how I can add that.

I also finished up a NICU quilt with some "Little Rascals" fabric I got from Sharon. At first I'd planned to use all the charm squares in one big quilt, but decided to break them up into four smaller baby quilts. They aren't elaborate in design, but fun and a quick stitch up.
I'm hoping to get several done by the fall since I haven't done any at all this spring and summer.
Toodle do for now!

Another August Christmas Project

I decided to whip this little runner up while I had a chance this week. I made it from a panel I found at the LQS. The ends are supposed to be postcards I think, but I attached them with the red/white stripe.
I did a little free motion work around the candy, and thread painted the word Joy on each postcard.

I like how it turned out. Now on to the big old Santa panel. Still thinking on that one.

Christmas in August

I finished a table topper that I absolutely love!!! I got the idea from Martingale but changed it up a bit.
For some reason, I couldn't get the free pattern to download, so I just tried to figure it out on my own and used graph paper. Doing that is kind of hit or miss, and it's not the same as theirs, but I'm happy with it.
Now, I've got to figure out what to do for September! I've been enjoying my Twelve Months of Christmas!!
