Quilting Mojo? Ohhh Mojo??

I can't find my quilting mojo lately. I have things I'm working on and will get a tee shirt quilt basted and ready to quilt today, but I haven't had any ideas running around in my head like I usually do.

I've decided to simplify my charity quilts and since making that decision, I've been on the lookout for an easy quilt pattern. So far, no luck. Maybe while I sit quilting the tee, I'll have some ideas pop in there. I usually come up with things while I'm doing something else.

Where and how do you come up with your ideas? Where do you get your inspiration?

Christmas in March #2

I was able to finish the Santa I was working on when I posted the last time. Here is my inspiration ornament purchased at Cracker Barrel.

And here is my personal version.

It's quite different, but then I never intended to try for an exact replica. If I make another one, I may add a little to it, or stitch it together instead of using hot glue. I just really wanted to get it finished to see whether I liked it or not. And I do.

Now, I can figure out what to do for April... Stay tuned folks!

Christmas in March

I'd hoped to have more than one thing to show you this month. Unfortunately, both the little man and I have been sick this week. That means I'm behind on pretty much everything. Be that as it may, I do have one little item to share for my monthly Christmas project.

I thought I'd use some things I already had around the house and make a peppermint lollipop to stick in the top of the tree. I'll make several more to add some fun to my tree.

I have something else about halfway finished, and might just add that on before the end of the month. That is if I can get over this thing I caught from my generous grandson.

More Tagging Honors

I was tagged by Lori from Bleak2Unique.

It's always nice to be chosen, and it warms the heart to know folks are actually viewing your blog enough to actually tag you. I have answered most of the questions before, and so I am uncomfortable repeating it all. I know Lori won't mind.

Hop on over and visit her! I know she will be delighted.

Funky Chicken Leg

That is the name of my latest charity quilt. The reason behind it is the fabric I used. Here's a close up.

I love it! And I made things easy, but using it for the backing as well as the piecing. I found it on clearance at Hancock's for $1.00 a yard and bought two yards. Probably should have bought more. And here is the finished quilt.

I had a little issue with stretching for some reason. I don't know if it was because the fabric had a lot of give, or if the batting I bought at Hobby Lobby was the culprit. It's different from what I've been using.  I'll have to be very careful with my next project because I bought enough to do a large quilt too.

The lighter piecing is a vintage fabric from my mother's stash. I'm so glad to be able to use it. I've been holding on to it for this kind of thing.

Now, let's do the Funky Chicken Y'all!

I finished my Bingo card! Yayyy for me! Wanna see? Well do ya??.... Ok, here you go.

B  Truck   Balls   Car   Periwinkles   Airplane

I  Bees   Daisy   Cat   Lamb   Chicken

N Strawberry   Pig   Free   Barn   Dots

G  Shamrock  Tree  Leaves   Swirls   Checks

O  Stars   Roses   Butterfly   Heart   Mums

I had a blast making this. And it was such a good use of scraps. I really need to get those things worked up into something because they are taking over my fabric cabinet.

I tried some new things with this because it's mine and no one else would care if I messed it up. It's the first time I've tried a criss cross grid and I loved it. I also practiced on my FMQ. It's a bit messy, but goes perfectly with the messy style lettering I appliqued.

No Arkansas Bingo card would be complete without a Razorback... *grin*

Now, bring on May for Me!!!

Wednesday Work

I finished a NICU charity quilt this afternoon. I have one more to go and I'll be ready to take them all to St. Vincent's Infirmary.
I just kept it simple with this one. I needed to get it done and get the next one taken care of because it's been a while since I delivered any. Straight lines and stitching in the ditch made this fast work.

The next one is sandwiched and ready to start quilting tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to take them to Little Rock next week.

And maybe tomorrow, I'll get my Bingo Board finished for the May For Me Bingo Celebration I'm participating in.
You can check out my post about that here
