Matching Pillow

Here is the pillow I created to go with Madeley's blankie.

I purposely left the edges rough, and time will fray them gently.

Madeley's Blankie

I created this for a new little arrival in our church family. I took regular solid colored fleece, and bound it with a retro print. I then added a mongram, and some little flowers. It is approximately 60 X 53 in size. I plan to create a small pillow to match, out of the binding fabric.

New Stocking

This one is for a little boy in British Columbia. I enjoyed painting it and I hope he likes it.

Slumming Saturday Surplus

Since giving all my fabrics to LeLe, I needed to replenish my stack if I wanted to create anything. I decided to go fabric browsing today, and my first stop was a rummage sale a local church was having. I purchased four items of clothing, simply for the fabric. Only one was the fabric of our lives, but the others may not fade with time, as cottom would. Two were plus size dresses, one was a split skirt and the other a man's shirt.

I carefully cut around all the seams in each article of clothing, and came away with quite a large amount of fabric. For only 1.00 per item, I think I found a bargain. Without even trying, I wound up with coordinating colors. Orange and red, and blue and green.

I visited two of the local antiques and collectibles businesses here in town, but didn't find anything useful. And I also visited the one fabric store in our town, since I hadn't shopped there in a couple of years. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful assortment of fabric at a reasonable price. In fact, the prices were less than the last Hancock's I shopped.

I didn't find as much as I'd hoped, but I did decide that rummaging might be a good way to find inexpensive fabric, if I don't need a huge amount of any one pattern.

Owlie and Kit

My first attempt to make pillows for the baby's room.

I may need to do something about Kitty's right eye. It's quite a bit lighter than the left. But I'll think on it some first.

More Canvas Bags

I've completed personalizing three more of the canvas bags.

This side is the same on two of them.

The lettering style on this side is the same, but the letters themselves are different.

This is obviously a western motif. All three are Christmas gifts.

Old and New

The first photo is of an old bedside chest I bought several years ago. It was already painted the cream color with the antique finish, and I just added the dogwoods. It's one of my favorite projects.

The second is a comical wedding portrait for my nephew who is getting married on October 24th. I found the clip art online and just enlarged it, painting with regular craft paint on thin canvas. The wedding will be a western theme, as they both love animals and horses.

The glare from the glass causes issues, so I took the photo without the frame.
